Art Tower Mito, Japan を支える水戸市民のアートへの取り組み、
開催中の、第38回水戸市芸術祭の催しの中から、魅力的な日本の
伝統芸術関連の活動に焦点をあてて英語でご案内する、
コンパクトな館内ツアーをご用意いたしました。
特に日本への馴染みがまだ浅い方、日本語よりも英語の会話の方が
楽という方へ、ぜひこのツアーをお知らせください。

Won't you enjoy a tour
to experience traditional Japanese culture in English?

At Art Tower Mito (ATM), the summer months from June to August
are a period for the presentation of artworks produced by Mito
citizens in their daily lives. Various events are prepared and
put on by the citizens themselves. Of those activities, we
have chosen three - "Ikebana," "Utai to Shimai (Noh chants and
dances)," and "Nodate (Outdoor Tea Ceremony, in case of rain
indoors)" - to be included in a short tour with explanations
in English.
The purpose of the tour is to mix with Mito citizens, while
getting, in a short time, a hands-on feel of traditional
culture steeped in the lifestyles of the Japanese people.
Please feel free to participate without hesitation!
Note: Also included in the tour is a ride to the top of ATM's
Tower -- the symbol of Mito -- which was designed by the
architect Arata Isozaki.
